Having spent almost three years incubating and developing the concept, the tipping point came when Ahluwalia met famed Robert Plant and Tinariwen producer, Justin Adams while on tour in Europe in 2009. Adams was immediately interested in the project and soon Kiran and Tinariwen's leader Ibrahim Ag Alhabib were making plans for the first session. The album also features award-winning Ghanian ritti player, Juldeh Camara and cutting-edge New York jazz guitarist. Rez Abbasi.
